Shocker: Nintendo not interested in bringing their games to PC

During Nintendo’s recent investor’s Q&A session, the company president was asked about bringing its games to the PC platform, considering the large PC gaming market.

And he gave an answer that didn’t surprise anyone: Nintendo isn’t bringing their games on PC.

“We are aware that many consumers play PC games. However, we believe that the integrated hardware-software business is the best way for us to provide the surprises and new gameplay experiences that we want to achieve,” said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima.

Nintendo is all about marrying their unique games to their unique hardware, hence the popularity of the Switch.

Considering how long it took Nintendo to warm up to releasing some games on smartphones, they might bring one of their games on PC… in the 2050s.

However, that’s not stopping PC gamers from enjoying Nintendo games on PC: there is a fully functioning Zelda: Breath of the Wild PC version, created by a team that is funded to the tune of $30,000 per month.

Of course, should Nintendo enter the PC market, they’d be wildly successful in selling their games. But that’s also true if they sold their games on the PS4 and Xbox One. Because a great game is a great game, regardless of the platform.
