Satoru Iwata to be honored with lifetime achievement award at the D.I.C.E. awards

The 19th annual D.I.C.E. awards will be held on February 18th and among the honorees this year is Nintendo’s former president, Satoru Iwata. He will be receiving a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award celebrating his contributions to the world of gaming. Of course, Nintendo picked up a few nominations of their own as well, for Splatoon and Super Mario Maker.

Splatoon has been honored as a nominee for Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Online Play, while Super Mario Maker is up for Best Family Game of the Year. If you’re curious what other games are nominated for the various categories, you can see the full list of nominees here.
