Retro Studios is not involved in Mario Kart 8 development

Mario-Kart-8-3

With the embargo lifted on Mario Kart 8, we’ve seen new developer interviews that hint at the power behind the Wii U and what we can expect to see once Mario Kart 8 is finally available on May 30. According to the developers, this game is one of the best we’ve seen graphically in the series and that’s all thanks to the power of the Wii U. Many people have speculated that Retro Studios may have been helping out on the title, but Nintendo World Report managed to confirm with a Nintendo representative that this isn’t the case, to the best of his knowledge.

The team at Retro is hard at work on another Nintendo title that hasn’t been announced yet, instead of helping the Mario Kart 8 team finish their product. Are you excited? You should be!
