Reggie will be joining the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge brigade

If you’ve been on the Internet in the past few days, you’ve no doubt heard of the ALS ice bucket challenge. It’s an initiative started to help garner support in the form of both monetary donations and awareness for ALS, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, as the famous baseball player ended his career because of it. Stephen Hawking is also a prominent figure with the disease and his case is somewhat miraculous, as the prognosis for surviving with ALS is usually only a few years, but Mr. Hawking has lived a very full life.

Either way, many celebrity and tech figureheads have taken the challenge, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft’s current and former CEO Satya Nadella and Bill Gates, and celebrities such as Oprah, Ashton Kutcher, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and more. Microsoft’s head of Xbox Phil Spencer recently challenged Reggie Fils-Aime to take the ALS ice bucket challenge with him and Reggie has responded saying he will do so. It’s heartwarming to see two competitors come together to promote awareness for charity. Now if only we could get Shuhei Yoshida in on this!
