Rainway dev shows Arkham Knight and Nier: Automata on Switch

Rainway, an app that will allow you to stream your PC games to multiple platforms, is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. With the announcement earlier this year, many Switch users (myself included) were apprehensive about how this application would work on the device or how good the quality of the streams would be, even with the best internet connection. Well, today, the developer has provided some footage of the app running on Switch and it actually works!

On Twitter, developer Andrew Sampson first showed off Batman: Arkham Knight being played on the Switch through the Rainway app. Though we can’t see their control input method, we can only guess they’re using a Pro Controller off-screen so they could get the best camera angle for the video. Though the frame rate is noticeably choppy, Sampson says “its not the techs fault.”

Another tweet shows Nier: Automata running on the Switch. This time, the frame rate doesn’t appear to falter, seemingly running at a rock-solid 60 FPS at some resolution.

And of course, there’s also Undertale, because why not?

So far, things are looking good for Rainway on Switch. I’m still slightly concerned about why Arkham Knight ran the way that it did, but as long as I can play Nier: Automata without any problems, I’m fine.

The Rainway app will be available via the Nintendo Switch eShop later this year.
