Project CARS reaffirms Wii U release later this year

With several delays already under their belt, Slightly Mad Studios have recently updated the FAQ for the Project CARS website to reaffirm that they’re still committed to Wii U and PC release. If you’re unfamiliar with the current status of the game, after obtaining help from publisher Namco Bandai, two delays of the game have been announced since fall 2014.

The Wii U and PC versions have been pushed behind the PS4 and Xbox One versions, which have taken priority for the developers. The game was originally supposed to debut on PS3/Xbox 360 as well, but those versions were axed in favor of working on current-gen consoles. The game was supposed to debut at the beginning of this year, but it was delayed again with no mention of the Wii U version. This led some to speculate that the team was attempting to sweep the Wii U version under the rug.

When is Project CARS released?
Mid-May on all platforms in Europe and the US with Wii U and Steam OS versions to follow later in 2015.

There has been no footage of the Wii U version shown specifically, but it’s still nice to see it being acknowledged on the official site.
