When Pokemon Go was released last Summer, it was nothing short of a phenomenon. It was all over the news, millions of people were playing the game (and getting some exercise), and Nintendo’s stock sky rocketed.
All of that has since calmed down: Pokemon Go is still popular but not a “phenomenon”, people aren’t going crazy over it, and Nintendo stock has settled down (a bit).
And as a testament to just how popular Pokemon Go has been this year, look no further than Google’s recent reveal of the top searches of 2016.
The term that more people searched for than anything else? “Pokemon Go”. Coming in at second place was “iPhone 7” and at third place was “Donald Trump”.
