Outlast 1 and 2 took just weeks to port to Switch

One of the latest hit indie games to get a Switch version is the horror title Outlast. And according to programmer Mathieu Gauthier who worked on the port, it took just a few weeks to get the job done.

Not only did it take them a few weeks to port the original game, they also ported the sequel at the same time.

He posted on his LinkedIn profile that it took “a matter of weeks” to port the two games to the Nintendo Switch, delivering an “experience that is very comparable to the more powerful consoles, but running at 720p/30Hz in handheld mode.”

That’s a pretty fast turnaround, especially for a studio that did everything in-house (they didn’t outsource the port to another studio).
