Two Tribes announced today that the planned level editor for the Wii U version of Toki Tori 2 has been scrapped due to poor sales of the title. The studio took stock of the time investment to bring the feature to Wii U and whether or not it would be worth it and decided that focusing on a new game would be a better use of their time.

“We asked ourselves: is this big update really worth the additional investment? We also figured that if we release a level editor, it won’t do much extra to the sales. When we weighed all the options, we unfortunately decided that it was the best option to move on and focus on a new game.”

For fans that are disappointed by this news, Two Tribes isn’t going to leave you hanging. You can request a free copy of the Steam version of the game, which does include the level editor. Simply head over to the Toki Tori 2 Miiverse community and let the developers know you’d like it on PC instead.
