Nintendo has been struggling in the finance department for a while now — the company has been steadily losing money due to a struggling Wii U (although things have been getting better lately). However, not all of Nintendo’s business operations have been posting bad results.

Nintendo’s MLB baseball team, the Seattle Mariners, recently posted an $11.6 million profit for 2014. While it’s a drop in the bucket for Nintendo — last year the company reported losses over $230 million — it’s a still good to know that there’s something positive to report to investors.

As for the Mariners baseball team, the team was purchased by former Nintendo founder Hiroshi Yamauchi, who owned 55 percent of the team. After his death in 2013, the ownership of the team was transferred to Nintendo.

Nintendo is very hands-off in terms of running the Mariners, and rarely interferes with management. In addition to last year’s $11.6 million profit, the team also had the best record since 2007, and the highest attendance per game since 2010 — an average of 25,477 spectators per game.
