Despite not releasing to the general public until April 28, those who bought both a Wii U and 3DS copy of Super Smash Bros. have had access to Mewtwo as a downloadable character for a few days now. During that time, several issues have cropped up in online play, including connectivity issues any time Mewtwo is chosen as a character, and a weird glitch that seems to enable 10 player Smash.

Nintendo of Japan confirmed today that they’re working on a patch that will hopefully resolve all these issues, including those experienced in single player modes like Classic, All-Star, Stadium, and Trophy Rush. For now, Nintendo has recommended that players avoid playing any of these modes with the Mewtwo character until the patch can be rolled out. He’s not totally broken however, as regular Smash and Smash Tour are free from the issues.
