Time has compiled a list of the most influential gadgets of all time, stating that its list of 50 devices are things we couldn’t live without or were pioneers in their field. Nintendo’s Wii found a spot on the list at number 32.
The reason Time chose the Wii is because if Iwata’s blue ocean strategy that stretched the Wii into millions of homes across the globe and bringing gaming to generations who previously showed no interest in the activity. Iwata made everyone gamers, so the Wii earns its spot on Time’s list for that reason with the statement, “no game system has done more to illustrate the omni-generational appeal of interactive entertainment.”
Of course, the Nintendo Wii wasn’t the only console chosen to highlight this list, other consoles to grace the list include:

15. Nintendo Entertainment System

So what took the number one spot on the list? The Apple iPhone, of course.
