Nintendo is not messing around when it comes to the Switch. They were serious when they said it could outsell the Wii, and the console’s great first year hasn’t dampened their ambitions.
On the contrary, they are even more confident about the console’s future. As they should be. But can they be too confident?
Here’s what Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto had to say about the Switch and how the company is approaching the marketing side:
“The marketing strategy going forward is to instill a desire to purchase Nintendo Switch among a wide consumer base in all the regions of Japan, the US, and Europe. Our ultimate ambition is for a Nintendo Switch to be owned not just by every family, but by every single person.”
Naturally, it’s every company’s dream to have as many people buy their products as possible, but to say that the goal is to have every person own a Switch — that’s a lofty goal.
How successful do you think the Switch will be compared to other Nintendo consoles? Do you think it will outsell the Wii? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
