Nintendo UK looking for new PR firm

Nintendo has decided to ditch its current PR firm in the UK, 77PR, and look for someone new to handle their Wii U and 3DS promotion and advertising in the United Kingdom.

The company made a quick announcement about the shuffle, but didn’t mention why it was leaving 77PR. Nintendo said in the announcement:

“In order to keep the PR activity for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS both fresh and innovative, Nintendo UK is currently reviewing its UK PR agency with the help of the AAR. Nintendo is in the final stages of the process.”

At this point, there isn’t much a PR firm can do to turn the Wii U around. It’s all up to Nintendo to actually decide to run some ads — Nintendo hasn’t really promoted the Wii U with big ad campaigns outside of the holiday shopping season.

Hopefully a new PR firm will not only come up with some interesting PR for the Wii U, but also manage to convince Nintendo to actually spend some decent money on advertising.
