Nintendo takes over mall fountain to promote Splatoon

Nintendo has a history of creating cool promos for its games. Whether it’s taking over a skate park for Splatoon, or making a real life go-kart racing track for Mario Kart 8, the company knows who to creatively promote its big games.

Now they’ve taken over a water fountain at the Toronto Eaton Centre mall in Toronto, Canada, with Inkling’s and spraying of colorful water. Check out the video above and see some of the crowd reactions as well.

Splatoon was released on the Wii U last month, and has been a success — so far gamers and the gaming press seem to like Nintendo’s take on the third person shooter. Don’t forget that Splatoon gets the Ink Brush weapon today.
