Nintendo Switch launches without Virtual Console

Nintendo has confirmed that there will be no Virtual Console on the Switch at launch. That means that Switch gamers won’t have access to Nintendo’s massive catalog of games previously released on the NES, SNES, and N64.

The company didn’t say when Virtual Console will be available on the Switch, but hopefully sooner than better, considering Switch’s thin launch lineup.

Speaking of Virtual Console, Nintendo has all but confirmed that GameCube games could be coming to the Switch, and if that’s the reason Virtual Console on the Switch is delayed, then sign us up!

Virtual Console originally launched on the Wii back in 2006, and was added to the 3DS in 2011 and Wii U in 2013.

The service launched on the Wii U about 3-4 months after the console hit the market, so maybe we can expect it this Summer on the Switch.
