Nintendo not holding European press event for Wii U

While Nintendo of America will be holding a special event on September 13 for the Wii U, the European outfit won’t be having a similar press event. Nintendo of Europe confirmed that there is nothing scheduled for September, which probably means we’ll get the European details at the same event in New York City. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime will take the stage and brief the press about the upcoming Wii U console, and it’s widely expected that the Wii U price and launch date will be revealed, alongside a first party games lineup for the launch.

Last time Nintendo held a special event in New York, a corresponding event took place in Amsterdam, where the launch details of the 3DS were unveiled. The lack of a European press event could indicate a delay of the Wii U launch in the European territories. It has been rumored that the Wii U will launch in late December in Europe, compared to November in the US and Japan.
