Nintendo loses patent appeal, ordered to pay $10 million

Back in August, we reported that Nintendo had lost a patent case and had to pay $10 million to a company called iLife.

Nintendo appealed the decision, and now the appeals court has come back with a verdict: Nintendo must indeed pay $10 million to iLife.

The Federal Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the verdict, saying that Nintendo infringed on iLife’s motion sensing patent in their Wiimote controllers.

Nintendo can appeal the decision to a higher court, something they are likely to do.
