Back in 2014, then-Nintendo President Satory Iwata said that the company was working on a “Quality of Life” product to help people in their lives. He specifically mentioned a product involving sleep and other health aspects.
And that was all we heard about their Quality of Life initiative. Since 2015, Nintendo hasn’t shown any actual product, nor have they even talked about the project.
But according to the company’s latest annual report, they are still working on the Quality of Life project. Here’s what the report had to say:
“We are working on the development of a new product that improves people’s QOL (Quality of Life) in enjoyable ways. Our aim is to enable consumers to make daily efforts to improve their QOL in a fun manner by making sleep and fatigue status visible and offering various services based on this information.”
It’ll be interesting to see what they do with this. It could be an actual product, or it could be a piece of software that works on Nintendo’s platforms (Switch and 3DS).
Hopefully it won’t take another 3 years before we hear more news on the Nintendo Quality of Life initiative.
