Nintendo is investigating all error code issues

Wii-U-console

Yesterday we reported that several people on Smash Boards were reporting error code problems with their Wii U after exiting an online gameplay session of Smash. The problem seemed most prevalent in the Super Smash Bros. community, with some saying they’re able to continue using their Wii U to play other games, but not Smash. Nintendo has issued a statement about all of these error codes that people are experiencing, specifically the 160-0103 and 160-1710 error codes.

According to Julie from Nintendo, the problem is not related to Super Smash Bros., but rather a hardware problem. No further explanation of the error was given, but Julie did state that anyone affected by any of these errors can contact Nintendo support for help setting up a repair.

A small percentage of consumers playing Wii U may experience error codes (160-0103 and 160-1710) that could affect the ability of the system to function properly. We are investigating this issue now. Until the solution is available, anyone that experiences these error codes can call the Nintendo contact center at 1-800-255-3700 for help and repair.

Have you experienced any errors lately with your Wii U? Were you playing Super Smash Bros. at the time? Let us know in the comments.
