Nintendo has been much more open and supportive of third party developers this time around, especially when it comes to indie game developers. Indie developers have praised Nintendo and the Wii U over the past year, and more and more indie games are coming to the Wii U eShop.

On top of that, Nintendo has secured a lot of deals with third party software developers to bring their tools and game engines to the Wii U. Just last month, Nintendo announced that the GameBryo engine will be coming to the Wii U.
