The August NPD Group numbers are now available and while Nintendo only had one Wii U title (LEGO: Jurassic World) in the top ten for the month, the real news is that Nintendo has managed to sell 7 million amiibo figures since their launch last November. That number accounts for sales in the United States only, so it’s likely Nintendo has sold more than 10 million worldwide since launch.
Splatoon is also performing well for the company, as it crossed the 600k sold threshold in August, for both physical and eShop sales. Aside from the amiibo and Splatoon news, Nintendo also saw increased Nintendo 3DS sales over the same period last year, but considering the launch of the Nintendo 3DS XL, this is to be expected.
