Nintendo engineer mentions next-gen, unannounced console in CV

Nintendo test engineer Lu Yang recently updated his resume at LinkedIn, where he lists what he’s currently working on: the Wii U, and a “next generation (unannounced) consoles”. He works at Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington.

Nintendo has already revealed that they are working on a next-gen system, codenamed Nintendo NX, which was announced last month at a press conference.

Satoru Iwata has said that they want to “surprise gamers with the NX“, and we’ve recently heard from analysts who believe that the NX will be “the dominant controller of the small device era“.

So far we can only guess as to when Nintendo will release the new console, but earlier this year, chip manufacturer AMD revealed that they have designed a new processor architecture for a “next gen console” scheduled to be released in 2016.

That 2016 console could be the Nintendo NX, even though it would mean that the Wii U wold get a pretty short lifespan.
