Nintendo is taking Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem to mobile

Part of Nintendo’s press release today also included some mobile news in the form of games instead of app-like experiences that we’ve seen so far in Miitomo. Their next two smartphone games will feature the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem properties and are described as “pure game applications.” The apps are slated to arrive this fall.

The Animal Crossing app is slated to connect with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems, which could possibly hint of a new Animal Crossing. Meanwhile, the Fire Emblem app is designed to be a “more accessible” version of the series designed for smartphones.

Compared to Miitomo, they have more prominent game elements, and the game content will tie closely into Nintendo’s dedicated games business.
