New Wii U firmware 5.3.2 ready to download

Today Nintendo released an update to the Wii U, bringing the firmware version to 5.3.2. This is an extremely quick incremental update to the 5.3.1 U update we saw only a few days ago that was designed to fix issues people were having with Mario Kart TV uploading videos to YouTube. That fix was addressed in the patch notes. The only patch notes released for this firmware update are the typical “stability and performance enhancing” notes.

Increased stability and convenience of the system

Despite this, perhaps Nintendo is readily looking into the numerous error codes that have plagued people over the past few days. We first covered it when news broke on a Smash Bros. community that exiting an online match before it was over could potentially brick your system with an error. While Nintendo asserts that’s not the case, there are numerous people reporting that they’re unable to play Super Smash Bros. at all due to the error, which specifies that save data is corrupted.

Either way, we’re hoping the issue is addressed soon as many people are just now purchasing the Wii U console and to encounter any errors with the system would paint it in a bad light. Hopefully Nintendo continues to identify these issues and fix them quickly.
