For those of you who own New Super Mario Bros. U and are looking for an additional challenge, New Super Luigi U is now available as downloadable content in the Nintendo eShop. You’ll need to own a copy of the original game for this downloadable version, so if you don’t and want to play, North American consumers will have to wait until August 25th for the green box edition. European consumers will have a slightly less wait, as it releases on July 26th.
The game is designed to be a bit harder than the traditional game, as each of the 80+ courses have been reconfigured with Luigi’s greater jump distance in mind and with only 100 seconds to complete each level. The game also features a new playable character called Nabbit, who made an appearance in the original game. Nabbit’s special ability is that he cannot be damaged by enemies, so players using him will only need to be mindful of their jumps.
