So far, Nintendo has been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to discussing their upcoming console. Former president Satoru Iwata announced the console earlier this year ahead of their big mobile announcement, but since then investor meetings and press briefings have been prefaced with Nintendo’s unwillingness to talk about the new console.

Now a new rumor suggests that the console will be entering mass production at the end of the first quarter of 2016. With full-scale production underway, it has been suggested that Nintendo themselves are targeting 20 million units shipped within the 2016 year. Component suppliers are less enthusiastic about that number, as they suggest Nintendo will only be able to move 10-12 million units.

According to Digitimes, Foxconn Electronics will be the manufacturer, but of course both Nintendo and Foxconn have refused to comment on this development.
