Today during the Nintendo Direct, Bill Trinen introduced a new series of amiibo that are launching alongside Mario Party 10. He also gave us a look at the new amiibo party mode, which will require amiibo in order to function. You can check it out in the trailer above and as you can see, each amiibo brings a unique trait to the game.
There are nine different amiibo that will work with the game, including the new Super Mario series of amiibo and some of the amiibo from the original Super Smash Bros. waves. Undoubtedly the new amiibo are released in order to encourage you to buy new figures so you don’t have to erase your Super Smash Bros. data for those characters, but if you don’t want doubles of certain characters that’s certainly an option.
If you’ve yet to hop on board the amiibo train but you’re excited about Mario Party 10, Nintendo announced a special bundle that will feature a Mario amiibo alongside the game.
