The New Acer Chromebook was announced last month, but very little about it was disclosed. The manufacturer is now ready to take the Acer Chromebook C720 to market and has given us more details on the Haswell-powered laptop. To make things even more exciting, one can also pre-order the device right now!

  • 11.6-inch 1366x768p display
  • 1.4 GHz Intel Celeron (Haswell)
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB SSD
  • 1 USB 2.0 / 1 USB 3.0 ports
  • 8.5 hours of battery life

The computer seems like your average Chromebook. Yes, it’s thinner and better-looking, but the big upgrade is in the internals. The processor, to be exact. The Acer C720 processor comes with the amazing Haswell architecture we all love.

Haswell processors are designed to take amazing advantage of batteries to make your computer stay alive for longer. Take the new Macbook Airs for example – those can stay on for as much as 12 hours! The New Acer Chromebook’s 8.5 hours of battery life may not be as impressive, but it definitely beats most other laptops out there.

The New Acer Chromebook can be had for just $249.99 in the US. It is available for pre-order at Amazon.com, while Best Buy should be making it available soon. This is a very good price considering HP just announced the Chromebook 11 for about $30 more. Of course, that one comes with a very cool light bar and a few other bells and whistles.

What do you think? Are you going with HP or Acer?
