New 2DS XL announced, priced at $149, July release

The Nintendo DS line is the handheld family that refuses to die. Despite just launching the Nintendo Switch last month, Nintendo has announced a hardware revision for the 2DS: the New Nintendo 2DS XL.

The New 2DS XL will follow the 2DS’ footsteps by excluding the 3DS feature found on the 3DS line of products. The New 2DS XL also features a clamshell design reminiscent of the 3DS XL, except much, MUCH sexier. Just check out the gallery below for proof.

In terms of specs, the New 2DS XL includes everything you would expect out of the box, including an NFC reader for your amiibo, AC adapter, and 4GB microSD card. Here’s a handy chart that compares what you’ll get from the current DS family of systems.
