This week sees the upcoming launch of Miitomo in Japan, bringing with it the Club Nintendo replacement, My Nintendo. The newest service still lets you rack up points, but there are some restrictions on what will earn you points, as evidenced by the upcoming rollout for Japan.

When the service launches on March 17 in Japan, gamers with Japanese Nintendo accounts will be able to acrue points in the following ways. Purchasing games either digitally on the eShop or physically through a retailer will net points, while DLC is currently unsupported and you will not get points for it. It’s unclear how that relates to multi-part games like the most recent Fire Emblem series, where an additional part of the game is considered DLC.

Nintendo 3DS themes and tickets will also not earn points for your My Nintendo account, either.
