Mr. Shifty dev says patch coming in next two weeks

Last week we spent a few hours playing Mr. Shifty live for our Nintendo Today community, and during the course of that we discovered the game suffers from some serious frame rate issues as you progress. The developer was quick to reach out and let us know that a patch is on the way to fix the issue, even highlighting some of the improvements.

So when can we expect to see the Mr. Shifty patch available in the Switch eShop?

Well, according to tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik, it should be arriving within the next two weeks.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that we were going to submit the Mr. Shifty patch this week, but due to next week being Gold Week, it wouldn’t matter as there are delays with submissions due to it. So we expect to submit the patch by end of week, and release the week after next. So in 2 weeks. It’s looking pretty good.

That’s good news, since the concept of Mr. Shifty is extremely fun and the poor frame rate experienced in later levels of the game really hinders how well you can perform. It’s great to see tinyBuild addressing these issues so quickly, especially after their faux pas by saying “even Zelda stutters.
