Monster Hunter XX to have cross-play and save transfers [Update]

UPDATE:

The official Monster Hunter Club has confirmed the game’s resolution to be 1080p  while docked and 720p in handheld mode.

Original Story:

Earlier this week, Capcom, to the surprise of us all, revealed that they’re porting Monster Hunter XX, a 3DS game, for the Nintendo Switch. Today, we have a bit more information on what all is coming with said port.

First off, with Monster Hunter XX on Switch, it doesn’t matter what console your buddies are on as the game features cross-play. This means that 3DS and Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play together, regardless of which version of the game they own.

If you’re coming from the 3DS version, you can even transfer your save file, so you don’t have to start the whole game over again and lose your progress.

Additionally, there will be a Monster Hunter XX bundle, featuring a themed Nintendo Switch dock and the game. Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t extend to the Joy-Cons or the Switch itself; just the dock.

Monster Hunter XX will be available in Japan on August 25, 2017. No localization has been announced yet.
