Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Switch top Japan’s charts for Golden Week

The Nintendomination continues in Japan, with last week seeing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch sales continue strong through Golden Week. Golden Week is a cluster of national holidays in Japan that most people get off work to celebrate.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild continues to chart on both Switch and Wii U, while the top nine games on the list are all titles for Nintendo consoles. We don’t see a game for another non-Nintendo console until the 10th spot, where NieR: Automata holds on for PS4. This definitely bodes well for Nintendo, despite president Tatsumi Kimishima’s concerns about third party support.

In other non-Nintendo related news, the Xbox One is not the worst-selling console this week. Surprise surprise!
