Mario Odyssey producer is open to DLC

No one has complained about the lack of content in Super Mario Odyssey — there’s plenty there for many hours of fun.

And we might get even more content in the future.

That’s according to Mario Odyssey producer Yoshiaki Koizumi, who said in the latest issue of GameInformer:

“We pushed ourselves to create as much as we could. I can’t announce anything specifically today, but of course, if there was a really cool idea for us to do, then we would certainly be thinking about DLC.”

Nintendo has already said that Mario odyssey will get new content in the future, but it won’t be fully fledged DLC like in Zelda, and it won’t be paid DLC either.

The company has taken a few different approaches to DLC: for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the DLC was paid, while games like Splatoon 2 have been updated with a ton of free content.

It’ll be interesting to see which direction Nintendo takes with Super Mario Odyssey.
