Amiibos have been more popular than both Nintendo and retailers expected, with many being sold out across the country. It doesn’t help that some amiibos are exclusives to certain outlets, so if you want that particular figure, you’ll need to shop at a particular retailer. An example of such is the Lucario amiibo, which is exclusive to Toys R Us. The amiibo went up for pre-order shortly after it was announced, but due to the popularity of that particular figure, it sold out rather quickly.
Toys R Us has now opened pre-orders for the amiibo, so if you want a guaranteed figure, you should probably pre-order it. The sucky thing is that Toys R Us always has premium prices on their stuff, so where as other retailers are selling their general amiibos for around $12.99, Toys R Us has a markup to $13.99. It sucks, but that’s what you have to pay if you want Lucario.
Lucario won’t be releasing until next year in February, so you’ve got a long wait ahead of you.
