An early Mario animated short has been found that was previously lost. It’s an animated traffic safety video to teach kids how to be safe around traffic, starring everyone’s favorite plumber. It’s always been interesting to see how Mario’s design in games has evolved over the course of 30+ years, but his animation style has certainly evolved, too.
The film was created in 1989 by Toei animation and the YouTube description says that this is one of many lost animated films that were created in the late 80s and early 90s to promote public safety.
