LEGO City’s load times aren’t that bad

LEGO City Undercover’s Wii U release was plagued with terrible loading times. It wasn’t uncommon to experience moments where you’d be staring at a loading screen for at anywhere between 60 and 80 seconds. With the remastered release on Nintendo Switch, the wait isn’t as long, depending on which version you have.

Reports from Reddit and NeoGAF state that the load times with the digital game loaded on the Switch’s internal memory average about 30 seconds when you’re entering the game world. If you’re going to the police station, it only takes around 17 seconds to load.

Reddit user “sylocheed” even did a nice comparison between the Wii U version and Switch version from the system memory and cart. From their comparison, as has been previously stated, to get the fastest loading, you’ll want to download the eShop version onto your Switch’s internal memory. Otherwise, you’ll be dealing with load times of up to 50 seconds.
