Joy-Cons are super accurate despite no IR sensor

Alright, this is pretty astounding. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Joy-Con controller is the best motion controller Nintendo has ever built. This series of videos just proves it. It’s a series of tweets from NintenDaan on Twitter checking out World of Goo, which supports motion controls on the Switch.

In the first video you can get an idea of what the motion controls in the game looks like:

But in this second video, someone on Twitter asks him to demonstrate how well the pointer works with just simple wrist movements instead of having to flail your arm around to achieve the movement you want. It turns out that the Joy-Con movement sensor is pretty great at simulating these tiny movements without an IR bar you have to set on top of your TV.

Not bad, Nintendo. I’m actually looking forward to checking out World of Goo despite owning it in about a thousand other places by now.
