Japanese Wii U commercial calls the console “Super Wii”

Nintendo had faced a lot of criticism for the original “Wii” name, and just as much for the new “Wii U”. The company settled on the “Wii U” name at E3 2011, but for marketing purposes, Nintendo seems to refer to the new console as “Super Wii” in Japan. At least, that’s according to the latest Japanese Wii U TV commercial, which you can find below. It’s likely just a temporary “nickname” aimed at those casual gamers who are still unaware what the Wii U really is. There are still folks out there, both in Japan and the rest of the world, who think the Wii U is a controller add-on to the original Wii.
