Japanese sales: Wii U sells 9k and remains steady

Japanese sales this week were dominated by the release of God Eater Resurrection on the PlayStation platform. The Wii U is holding strong at around 9k sales this week, still down from last week but not the huge drop we’ve seen in some weeks with no new Wii U releases.

Super Mario maker and Splatoon are holding strong in the top ten, though sales have fallen off. Splatoon is just shy of a quarter million sold and will surpass that next week, while Super Mario Maker is on its heels with 350k lifetime sales.

The Nintendo 3DS continues to be a stronger performer as the second in hardware for the New 3DS LL, while regular 3DS sales at this point aren’t worth mentioning. An interesting quirk in the sharts shows Halo 5 just missing the top ten for launch week and the Xbox One managed to sell LESS units this week in Japan than the previous. Western games just don’t do very well over there.
