Switch and Monster Hunter top Japan’s charts this week

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another look at how well the Japanese video game market is doing based on Media Create sales for the previous week. As expected, the Nintendo Switch is still on top of the hardware charts with a significant bump in sales compared to last week. Switch sales numbers are well above other consoles right now, despite the lack of games.

On the games front, Monster Hunter XX takes the top of the charts yet again after its release last week, quickly followed by Breath of the Wild and 1-2-Switch on in the second and third spots. The Wii U version of Breath of the Wild still shows up more than three weeks after release, which shows just how powerful the release has been for Nintendo.
