Japanese sales: Price cut puts PS4 on top this week, Super Mario Maker still strong

Sales for last week in Japan have been released by Media Create, with the PlayStation 4 claiming the top hardware spot thanks to a price cut in Japan on October 1. The console jumped from 4k sales last week all the way up to 46k. Wii U sales are still pretty strong thanks to the strong performance of Super Mario Maker and Splatoon, both of which stayed in the top ten this week despite several new releases for PlayStation.

Both hardware and software sales this week are dominated by PlayStation products, but Nintendo has managed to keep several of its best-selling games in the software list this week despite the onslaught.
