Analysts have been going crazy trying to predict how the Nintendo Switch will perform after the flop that was the Wii U. It’s no secret that Nintendo needs the Switch to be a big success and it looks like it’s shaping up to be just that, according to recent sales reports.
Now that the first month of sales reports are behind us and we’re edging into the second month of availability (or non-availability, depending on who you are), we’re starting to see some analysts revise their expectations for the console for its first fiscal year of sales.
Macquarie ups its Switch sales view from 11m to 14.5m in FY3/18, software attach rate to 2.8x from 1.8x; expects DQ11 Mar/Apr, MH5 Feb/Mar.

The Macquarie Group of analysts have upped their Switch sales predictions from 11 million to 14.5 million for the fiscal year and they’ve raised their software attach rate up to 2.8x from 1.8x. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this is that the analysts are expecting Capcom to announce Monster Hunter 5 during February or March of next year.
There have been some rumors that Sony has funded Monster Hunter 5 to see it released on the PS4 and not on the Nintendo Switch, but at this time they’re just 4chan rumors that should be given very little attention. Either way, it’s nice to see analysts are positive on the outlook for the Switch, since it’s Nintendo’s best-selling console to date.
