With Super Smash Bros. for 3DS firmly in the hands of Japanese gamers, it’s no surprise that hardcore fans have set about trying to discover any glitches that may be contained in the game. One Twitch streamer has discovered a strange glitch relating to the Ice Climbers, who were cut from the game due to their data being extremely old and the team not having enough time to build the duo from scratch. Streamer Gema Yue has discovered the “Nana, Popo” chant of the duo can be heard after defeating Dr. Mario while playing as the villager. You can hear the glitch in action in the video below.

Yesterday Sakurai discussed exactly why the Ice Climbers were dropped from the main roster, stating that their battle data was simply too old to be re-used and needed to be rebuilt from scratch. This almost guarantees the NES duo will see a release in the form of a DLC pack for the game, whenever Nintendo decides it’s ready to reveal that information. This glitch seems to confirm that, considering the music is already in the game for characters that don’t exist yet.
