SteamWorld Heist is the next game from Image & Form

A few weeks ago Image & Form, the team behind the hugely popular SteamWorld Dig announced their newest title, SteamWorld Heist. The game is scheduled to be released sometime in Spring of 2015 and in order to build hype for the game, the team is taking the time every Tuesday to discuss new aspects of the game. This Tuesday the team has revealed Jack the Crippler, a new type of robot that you’ll encounter in the game and belongs to the Scrappers faction.

The Scrappers are a new faction of steambots that have quickly gained power through their ruthless piracy and exploitation of other steambots. Heinously, they defy the taboo of creating new steambots from “dead” or damaged parts, warping the personality of the newly created steambot towards wicked and cruel traits.

Unlike the original SteamWorld Dig, which had a Minecraft exploration vibe to it, the newly announced SteamWorld Heist will instead focus on space adventures and survival. Players will be able to recruit a team of rag-tag robots in order to explore and scavenge the remains of ships. The game will be turn-based and will be headed to Wii U as well as Nintendo 3DS.
