With the update to the official Mario Kart 8 website, we now have a list of all the amiibo figures that will be compatible with Mario Kart 8. Interestingly enough some of them are for characters that haven’t been released yet, so it’s nice to see them included. Here’s the full list:
- Mario
- Luigi
- Yoshi
- Peach
- Donkey Kong
- Link
- Kirby
- Captain Falcon
- Samus
- Fox McCloud
Of this list, we know that Link is coming in a DLC update, but Captain Falcon, Samus, Fox McCloud and Kirby are all scheduled for DLC at some point in the future. Whether having the Amiibo unlocks the character without a DLC purchase we’re not sure, but once the amiibos are released we’ll know. Many have stated they’re disappointed that Captain Falcon will feature in Mario Kart 8 since his original title is F-Zero, one of Nintendo’s most lauded racing games.
