Blizzard says Hearthstone on Switch “good discussion worth having”

It’s been rumored for a while now that Blizzard is considering bringing Hearthstone to consoles, but what about the Nintendo Switch? Hearthstone is already available on mobile devices like the iPad and Android tablets, which the Switch has more in common with than the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4.

Express Online reached out to game designers Mike Donais and Matt Place to ask if we could ever expect to see the game end up on the Nintendo Switch. Donais says he hasn’t personally discussed the game appearing on the Nintendo Switch since he’s more focused on card design, but says that since “Hearthstone is available on iPads and phones, it’s a good discussion worth having.”

That certainly doesn’t mean the Nintendo Switch is a priority for Blizzard right now, since both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have a much wider install base thanks to a three-year head start. What’s interesting is that unlike some developers who have flat-out stated that the Nintendo Switch isn’t a priority for them, Blizzard seems hesitant to do so with games like Hearthstone and Overwatch.
