Guitar Hero Live available for pre-order on Amazon

Earlier today, Activision finally revealed Guitar Hero Live, the newest iteration of the Guitar Hero series. Developed by Freestyle Games, the former developers of DJ Hero, this new take on the music genre games puts you in a first-person perspective with a live crowd that reacts accordingly to how well you play.

The game is coming to Wii U on October 20 and features a brand-new controller that has been redesigned to fit the aesthetic of the new first-person game. One of the first things you’ll immediately notice is the bright, colorful buttons that once graced the original controllers are gone and instead, the buttons look as though they’re actually supposed to be on the guitar.

If what you’ve seen so far from the reveal is impressive, Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the game. You’ll have to plop down $100 to get the game and the controller and the old controllers won’t work with the new game, so it’s a bit of an expensive investment for a genre that may die off as quickly as it arrived.
