Google has just announced that its own Chrome apps and extensions will be included in the Security Rewards Program. For those who don’t know, this program pays developers who discover bugs and vulnerabilities. This will ensure that Chrome and Google’s services stay secure, letting you can browse safely.

Developers will be able to earn $500-$10,000, depending on the significance of the discovered vulnerability and which permission the app/extension handles.

Google points out that they are sure most of their Chrome apps and extensions are very secure, given their security guidelines. Of course, some of these extensions are used by millions, though, so it can’t hurt to have a little extra security.
